General Chairman, Dr. Brian E. Springett, Fingerpost Advisers

You are cordially invited to participate in our 21st Annual Toners & Photoreceptors conference June 6-9, 2004. Once again, Conference Chair Dr. Brian E. Springett will convene a Panel of top scientists and market analysts to present the Tutorials and lead the focused Sessions that address this industry’s most crucial issues.

Since 1984, our unique seminar has attracted registrants worldwide to assemble in Santa Barbara for discussions on the state-of-the-art and the state-of-the-industry. Be an active participant by attending, networking, exhibiting or sponsoring an activity at this unique international event.

Color and chemical toner Issues will likely take center stage as price points shrink for laser-based color copiers and printers. Color will be among the market directions assessed by two well-known analysts, Richard C. Norton, President of DocuTrends, and John E. Shane, Associate Director of CAP Ventures.

An important derivative of the race to bring color to business communications is the increased interest in chemical toner manufacturing as an advance over conventional melt-mixing and pulverizing methods. At least three speakers will address this growing sector of the 500 million pound world market for toner. Dr. Paul Julien of Xerox Corporation, Mr. Ian Nielson of Coates Electrographics, Dr. Peter vander Wel of Hosokawa Micron BV, and a Speaker from Ricoh Co., Ltd. whose name will be announced shortly.

Among the other innovative highlights of this year’s forum are: the disclosure of a new type of dry toner that is UV-curable for better permanence and abrasion resistance; a breakthrough in wiper blade coating that promises to measurably extend OPC drum life; new particle drying technology for chemically produced toner (CPT); a tutorial on monocomponent toner by one of Lexmark’s leading toner scientists; an overview of toner & OPC manufacturing in China; Docutrend’s annual assessment and forecast for toners and photoreceptors; CAP Ventures’ annual analysis of remanufacturing market trends; and other key topics listed below, to be presented by industry leaders from around the world.

This powerful, cutting edge program (watch it grow on www.thetiaragroup.com) will once again bring together the world’s leading producers of dry and liquid toners, carriers, and developers, as well as photoreceptor drums and belts and other machine components for the imaging industry.

The Chinese Connection
The Tiara Group is proud to announce that a California-based toner expert, Mr. Henry Sun, President of SD Pacific (Irvine, California) will host a contingent of about 12 Chinese toner manufacturers at this year’s Santa Barbara seminar. Says Mr. Sun, “These delegates represent China’s emerging toner and photoreceptor industry. They will be keenly interested in learning about the state-of-the-art and the state-of-the-business directly from the international group of scientists, market analysts, and corporate executives who normally attend this conference.”

Join us at Fess Parker’s DoubleTree Resort (a Hilton Hotel) this June and you’ll find yourself exploring these issues along with the industry’s top executives, front line managers, scientists, engineers and market strategists. Because they are highly interactive, our limited attendance conferences are unequaled in information transfer and networking opportunities.
