VALERIE GORKA has worked in the hospitality industry since the early 1980s. She started at the front desk of a corporate hotel and worked her way into the sales office where she became the number one sales person. She moved from there to director of sales and marketing at another hotel property. Her career in management has included administering the day-to-day operations of a specialized event company; supervising a staff of 12 in a wholesale golf travel business; and working with her husband, Terry, in designing and servicing their clients' events as well as their own branded conferences and trade shows.

TERRY GORKA was the founder of Golf Pacific Coast, European Golf Vacation, Golf Southeast and Golf Destinations. These companies provided wholesale golf-travel packages to the travel industry and individual travelers. American Express was among their clients. Golf Destinations provided the design and implementation of international golf and travel excursions for Amex. Terry spent 17 years in Europe, Australia, the Far East and Middle East.  For the past 10 years he was the managing director and full partner in The Tiara Group, a meeting and seminar company that specialized in high technology trade shows, conferences and symposia in the United States, Australia, Europe and Asia. He also served as general manager of the ReChina Expo in Shanghai - the printing industry's largest trade show at the time.
